In the first half of this program about women working creatively with kids on life's knottier questions, Sarah Reith talks with Kate Schatz, author of Rad American Women A-Z. The first children's book from City Lights Books, it is a mosaic of American women who faced adversity and spent their lives doing what was most important to them.

In the second half, we'll hear from local mosaic artist Elizabeth Raybee, who has worked with local schools and organizations to help kids rethink their lives, face grief, and celebrate community. She'll talk about how she integrates poetry and visual art, and how the world's ugliest bathroom launched her career as a professional mosaicist.
